The Ferros

Cute kittens, a mid-air pine cone and generally hilarious shenanigans.

I left this wedding day feeling so happy and energised!

After James and Kate’s gorgeous ceremony in Fagan Park, we started moving around getting some bridal photos of them. They initially apologised in advance for being goofy and silly in front of the camera and that they would try to take some nice and “proper” photos and be less crazy.

I promptly put the camera down and said something to the effect of: “NO. WAY. You guys don’t need to apologise and you don’t need to change anything that you’re doing. I want your photos to be a reflection of you on YOUR wedding day, not some awkwardly curated version of yourselves!”

They seemed relieved to hear this, and from there on out, we had a blast of a time having fun and creating meaningful memories of their day.

After some springtime light deliciousness, we headed back to Kate’s family home for an intimate backyard reception for their family and closest friends. The atmosphere was so warm and comfortable; no pith, just joy, and it really charged me up.

Sometimes I leave weddings exhausted, because I’ve thrown everything I had at it and got a great result - of course I enjoyed the day, but boy am I tired! There’s nothing wrong with that because I hit the hay knowing I left it all on the playing field for my couple. But the fact that I finished this day with so much joy in my heart is purely a testament to Kate, James and their families being so gosh darn wonderful and having a day that was one which reflected them.
