The Varcoes

A flyaway veil, some bubbles and a southerly buster*!

*read: a sudden change in weather from the south!

Yet another gorgeous south coast wedding! It is fast becoming my second home.

I met Pete at his mate Brad’s wedding. He had just flown back home after proposing to Emily overseas, which I was pretty excited to hear the story of, but it was a little hard to fully pay attention to because another groomsman, Bram, was trying to convince me his name was Pet not Pete!

After getting to hang out with Pete and Emily on their beachy engagement shoot at Bombo Quarry, I was very excited for the big day! By this time we had become familiar with a lot of their friends who’s weddings we’d previously shot, and it was indeed a happy and comfortable environment with new and old friends.

I loved seeing how passionate Pete was leading his family and friends in singing and how he let the raw emotion and joy of getting married overflow. It was great to go and enjoy the vistas that the South Coast of Sydney has to offer from Minnamurra to Geroa!

Even getting caught in the rain was cause for some laughing and fun and I guess it wouldn’t be the South Coast if a southerly bluster hadn’t come through at dusk to ruffle our hair around!

The reception was a lot of fun. We were seated at the self-appointed ‘naughty table’ (fun table) with none other than Sarah and Zane - see their wedding here. There was dancing, smoke machines, and an incredible MC who spoke both English and Cantonese; translating everything quickly for every guest to understand.

I loved getting to tell Pete and Emily’s story and I hope you can enjoy experiencing their love and joy captured in the moments below.
